Wednesday-Halfway to the Weekend!

by Sara Holland & Company 10/16/2019

Here it is again, another list of great fun things to do this weekend in the Lakes and Mountains Region and Pemi Baker Valley of NH.  As the weather turns colder, often times the list of things to do in our area will get a bit shorter til ski and holiday season events are upon us. But this weekend, there are still some great fall family fun options for us to highlight and for you to get out and enjoy!  Check out the great ideas we have here, or just get out and enjoy the end of the fall foliage, this will be one of the last weekends (if the leaves manage to stay on the trees during tonights nor'easter!!!) of peak color before winter reaches out and makes the skiiers and snowboarders hearts burst with fluffy white joy!

Friday the 18th and Saturday the 19th Warren Parks & Rec will be hosting a Fall Festival (check out the Warren Parks and Rec page on Facebook for more details). Friday afternoon and evening there will be pumpkin carving, food vendors, music from Alex Valliant, Chris Comeau & Jon Cyr., then that night from 6-7 there will be a Campfire and S'mores on the Warren Town Common.  Saturday's events include Helicopter rides with White Mountain Helicopter, McVetty Town Forest Clean Up, Historical Society Open House, Food Vendors, Trunk or Treat, Chili/Chowder Cook Off, Warren Village School Benefit Concert all capped off with Haunted Hay rides at 7pm! This is sure to be a great and fun filled event, don't miss it!!

Alternately, Saturday morning at 11:30, head to downtown Plymouth to the Common for the Fall Family Fun Festival, there will be games, crafts, face painting, a fall photo booth, and much much more.  The Uncle Steve Band will be providing great music for the day and at 1 pm the Great Pumpkin Race will commence, be sure to come out and cheer for your favorite pumpkin!  It's sure to be a fun and festive day for family members of all ages!

Speaking of Pumpkins.....this weekend is the NH Pumpkin Festival, on Saturday the 19th from 12 PM to 8 PM, head to downtown Laconia to see the giant wall of pumpkins, snack on food from great vendors, there will be games and music and fun for the whole family.  So bundle up, and check out the Pumpkin Festival!

We are sensing a theme for this weekend(Pumpkin Spice Latte anyone???).....keep the evening going on Saturday and head on over to Castle in the Clouds in Moultonborough for a nighttime Pumpkin Walk.  This is a family friendly trail walk and is free to the public. Costumes (Not scary or frightening as this is a family event and is not a haunted or spooky trail walk) are encouraged, as are headlamps or flashlights and warm garb.  Its a self guided tour on the trail with lit pumpkins to guide the way.

Do you know of something fun and festive happening in the area this weekend (or any other weekend)?  Be sure to shoot us an email at [email protected] or leave us a line over on our Facebook page! We are happy to highlight your events and activities in a future What's Happening Wednesday post!!!
